What makes me be (from) a place? We constantly trace over a territory and attribute meaning to it. In Andean cosmology, “ceques” (imaginary lines) were a conceptual-structural tool for integrating ideas about space and marking orientation points within it. “Being-Mountain” is not a completed project; rather, it encompasses my annotations on the territory, whether by taking a drawing to various cardinal points with significant symbolic and historical components, or by painting, photographing, and leaving offerings to the land on sacred mountains. In a way, I create my own “ceques” and identify with a cultural landscape.
